WOO! An awesome session at Roller Derby tonight =D I was hoping to take a couple of mates but up to their usual form it didn’t happen. The one had forgotten and was doing an early day in work tomorrow and the other has a bad back, but even just showing her face would’ve meant she could join in next week. Ah well. Some people just don’t help themselves and at least I got to sing along to the music in my car =D

As it was the newbie session we didn’t do much skating for the first hour. There were so many new people interested today it was insane, if they all come back there will be more of them than us – interesting how I don’t class myself as a newbie anymore – but I think maybe half will return. It would be good to get more coming though as then we can do more scrimmaging and not have to worry about swapping round too much. Once the new guys had been skating around for a bit we did some drop drills and then some scrimmaging. THe first ones were just a race to make walls in front of the other teams and I was pretty crap at that as it was my first time and I haven’t quite got he speed yet, also not an excuse but my wheels have been playing up despite me cleaning them all today :@ during the proper scrimmage when we had a jammer going I got a good couple of blocks in which was great, a boost I needed to be honest. Even got a high-five from the girl I blocked for doing a good job haha. I’m going to dive in and buy some new wheels tomorrow I think and try to get an extra practice session in Sunday then look out Evoultion Rollergirls I’ll be out to get you!! LOVING IT!
